Nigerian Honey Beans, known locally as Ewa Oloyin (Yoruba for "beans with honey"), are a premium West African variety of cowpeas celebrated for their naturally sweet, nutty flavour and soft texture. These light-brown, kidney-shaped beans are a staple in Nigerian cuisine, cooking faster than regular brown beans. 

Key Characteristics and Uses:

• Taste and Texture: They have a distinctly sweet taste—with notes of molasses and chocolate—and become creamy when cooked, making them ideal for dishes like porridge (Ewa Riro), Moi Moi (steamed pudding), and Akara (fried cakes).
• Cooking Advantage: Because of their thin skin, they cook faster than regular beans and rarely require a long soaking time.
