Nigerian Tiger Nuts are small, edible root tubers (not actual nuts) harvested from the Cyperus esculentus plant. Known locally as Aya (Hausa), Ofio (Yoruba), or Aki Awusa (Igbo), they have been a traditional snack in Nigeria for centuries.
